1. All award winners (* on address label or on subject line of email) of the 2012-2014 festivals are invited to return, exempt from jurying only in categories of previous judged monetary awards. These artists will be accepted upon receipt of their registration check before the jurying deadline. All other applicants must submit three photos to be juried.
2. Each artist must enter individually unless the art is a collaborative effort.
3. Artists submitting in a maximum of two categories using one booth will pay one space fee, but two application/jury fees. Artists must display a minimum of four (4) pieces per category in which they qualify.
4. Work eligible for judging must be original work done since 2012. No art work that has been previously awarded in this festival will be eligible for judging. This rule will be enforced.
5. Prints must be signed and numbered and limited to 1000. No laser prints.
6. Ceramics that are hydraulic pressed are not permitted.
7. All displays will be viewed at intervals throughout the Festival to assure that all rules are being followed. Violation will result in the artist being asked to remove his/her unacceptable material from the show.
8. Artists must display work and sell only in the categories in which their work has been accepted.
9. Exhibits must be in place on Saturday before 9:00 a.m. and until 5:00 p.m. and before 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m on Sunday. Halifax Art Festival does not provide tents but can assist artists in locating a rental tent.
10. Judging and purchase awards will begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and exhibits must be set up to be eligible. If art work is selected for judging, it must be tagged and taken to the judging room no later than 1:00pm. Details will be in your registration packet.
11. Watercolors. graphics and photographs entered in judging must be suitably framed.
12. No affiliation, ribbons or publications about the artist may be displayed prior to judging.
13. Unacceptable to show: Decoupage, commercial photographs, mass produced jewelry, manufactured bags or belts, non-original or kit work, or commercially produced clothes.
